To Know About Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis,

occurs most often in older people, although it can occur in adults of any age.

it is also known  degenerative joint disease, degenerative arthritis, and wear-and-tear arthritis.

Osteoarthritis is caused by joint damage.

which is why age is one of the main causes of the joint damage leading to osteoarthritis???

the more wear and tear you’ve had on your joints.
Other causes of joint damage is :-
                   torn cartilage
                   dislocated joints
                   ligament injuries

They also include joint malformation, obesity, and poor posture.  Osteoarthritis  is the most common chronic (long-lasting) joint condition.

A joint is where two bones come together. The ends of these bones are covered with protective tissue called cartilage. With OA, this cartilage breaks down, causing the

bones within the joint to rub together. This can cause pain, stiffness, and other symptoms.
Initially, symptoms may occur only following exercise, but over time may become constant.
Other symptoms may include joint swelling, decreased range of motion, and, when the back is affected, weakness or numbness of the arms and legs.  Usually the symptoms come on over years.  It can affect work and normal daily activities.

osteoarthritis affects the articular cartilage at the synovial  joint. it is a degenerative joint disease...

Osteoarthritis is believed to be caused by mechanical stress on the joint and low grade inflammatory processes.  It develops as cartilage is lost and the underlying bone becomes affected.
Diagnosis is typically based on signs and symptoms, with medical imaging and other tests occasionally used to either support or rule out other problems.
